Program Overview

Engineering Exploration Day introduces upper elementary and middle school students to the world of engineering through immersive, hands-on experiences. Participants rotate through five interactive activities, each designed to highlight different engineering disciplines and ways of thinking. Activities are organized into tracks, allowing students to experience focused exploration rather than short, disconnected demonstrations.

Upon registration, students select their top five activity track preferences, and one track is assigned prior to the event. This structure allows participants to engage more deeply with engineering challenges while working alongside peers in a guided setting. Activities emphasize experimentation, collaboration, and creative problem-solving rather than lectures or presentations.

The event is designed to be engaging for students with a wide range of prior experience, making it suitable for both first-time STEM explorers and students who already enjoy science and engineering.
